The Garrison's were not home as we arrived early, but were greeted by the welcoming committee of Ebony and Sitka, the Family dogs. This B&B is a little out of the way, and the washboard road makes one think they have taken a wrong turn, but then there's the sign and the turn in to the driveway. Overall, the Garrison is a great place to stay and I highly recommend it. What a treat! The only negative I could mention is the drive to the lodge (part of which is very dusty), but the view and family atmosphere far outweigh the small logistical challenge. The meal is topped off with fresh orange juice and handmade jam. You can choose from stuffed french toast, Belgian waffles, buckwheat pancakes and omelets served with coffee/tea, bacon, sausage or ham and hash browns.

He is a professional chef, and his made-to-order breakfasts are outstanding. Simply amazing! After a good night’s rest, you can look forward to one of Gene’s gourmet breakfasts. The view alone is worth the stay! Gene has a telescope in the living room that provides a beautiful view of Mt. lodge is located on a knife-edged ridge with an incredible view of Glacier National Park to the east. If you are looking for a family-friendly B&B in the Flathead Valley that provides a home atmosphere, great food and an outstanding view, then the Garrison Inn is the place for you. We got to spend time with Chef Gene and AnnMarie. The breads and the homemade huckleberry jam was so good! That was another great addition to the stay. It got into the high 50s for a low when we stayed so it was comfortable by the time we went to sleep. I imagine a lot of homes in Montana are having to be creative with the heat. Montana had record heat when we were on our visit so it was nice to have the extra fans. We positioned a fan in front of the window and the cool air filtered in and cooled off the room. It was a tad warm upstairs, but there were plenty of fans. The food was really good - I have to suggest the filet.
We had never seen so many and different varietals. The view was outstanding and there were so many hummingbirds on the back patio. Chef Gene cooked dinner for us and it was really good.

The dogs gave their services free of charge I might add! The back patio was our other favorite place. They were excellent greeters and felt right at home cuddling with us and giving kisses. We stayed for one night and upgraded our package to include dinner. You hit a little gravel road which made us feel like we were going to stay somewhere different from a traditional hotel room. My partner and I really enjoyed our time at the property. We stayed at the Loft at the Garrison Inn.
